Let's start here: The JP Hoe Hoe Hoe Holiday Show must go on.

I've run through every possible scenario, to play a show with friends; with or without a live audience...at a variety of theatres or renting a mansion...4 players, 8 players, 12 players...etc etc. But here's the thing, it's just not feeling right. More than anything, I want to be in a room with all 15 members of the holiday show band, playing my songs that have come from a decade and a half of Holiday shows. But safety is what's important, and with Manitoba continuing to battle, erring on the side of caution makes sense.

So...

I have a song called Sing 'O Holy Night. This song is based on Christmas parties held at Fred Penner's house every Dec 22 or 23rd. We would sit in a room full musicians and non musicians. We played originals, we played covers, we made up songs on the spot. It was perfect. I know we can't celebrate with friends and family the way we normally would, so let's get together for a virtual Christmas sing along. I host, you attend. Wear pants. Don't wear pants. I don't care. Play along, or watch. It don't matter. Every ticket will include a download link to all of my holiday songs lyrics and chords. I'll talk about the songs, how they came about, show you what I can about playing them, and add a bunch of other songs for good measure.

The concert will be held via Side Door Access a concert site that uses Zoom to hold up to 1000 streamer. Keep you camera on if you want to connect with others or watch like a spy on a rooftop, it's all good.

I know that I need this. Even if 20 people attend, that's good by me. $5 from every ticket will go to the Christmas Cheer Board, the event is presented by our long time friends at Virgin Radio and the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

If you can't make, I still wish you Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas, and know that we'll be back next year and we are going to blow the roof off.
